Advanced Coaching with Industry Attachment (Apps & Games)
Overview:
With mobile applications and games dominating the digital entertainment and services sector globally, Bangladesh needs a homegrown talent pool capable of meeting international development standards. In a groundbreaking initiative, Shooting Star Ltd., in partnership with UY Systems Ltd., delivered a focused 5-month professional training and coaching program in Dhaka aimed at grooming 60 aspiring developers.
This program, under the Skill Development for Mobile Game and Application Project (1st Revised), was designed to combine technical mastery with industry alignment—training youth on both Android and iOS platforms with real-world application insights.

Background:
The global mobile gaming industry is projected to reach USD 100 billion+, yet Bangladesh contributes more as a consumer than as a creator. This skill gap has been a concern for tech policy makers and youth employment strategists alike.
In response, this project was designed to:
- Groom youth with direct application-level experience
- Enable industry-standard coaching on both Android & iOS
- Impart training on ideation, UI/UX, animation, and publishing
- Promote self-reliance through job creation and entrepreneurship
Our Comprehensive Solutions:
Our approach merged hands-on coding skills with creative thinking, ensuring learners were ready not only to work, but to innovate.
Core Components:
- Platform-Based Coaching: Android and iOS development taught by platform-specific coaches
- Games & Apps Curriculum: From concept to deployment, using industry practices
- Problem Solving Methodology: Focus on debugging, code optimization, and live testing
- ✏️ UI/UX Masterclasses: Conducted by specialists to teach interface logic and user-centric design
- Industry Attachment: Exposure to professional environments for practical insights
- Project Showcases: Trainees demonstrated apps/games before completion
Challenges:
- Skill Gap: Most participants had never written mobile code before
- Design Mindset: Instilling creativity in those with purely technical backgrounds
- Short Duration: Condensing a wide syllabus into 5 months
- Platform Diversity: Ensuring balanced training across Android & iOS
Our Approach to Overcome:
- Targeted coaching teams (e.g., separate leads for Android & iOS)
- Hands-on projects and daily labs
- Live feedback and weekly mentoring
- Real-world case studies and gamified assignments
Results:
📍 60 trainees were upskilled in mobile application and game development
📍 All trainees completed Android or iOS-based apps within 5 months
📍 Participants now demonstrate:
- UI/UX fluency
- Basic-to-intermediate-level game mechanics implementation
- Confidence in deploying apps on Google Play and App Store
📍 Many trainees were either:
- Hired by local software/game firms
- Started freelancing careers
- Working on their own game titles
Why It Matters:
This program didn’t just teach code—it taught digital confidence. It empowered youth to think, design, build, and launch. In the broader vision of “Smart Bangladesh,” initiatives like this are planting seeds for a digitally self-reliant generation.
Shooting Star Ltd. is proud to stand at the forefront of digital capacity building, where each trainee becomes a potential creator of global tech experiences.
