Overview:

In an era where mobile gaming is driving global digital revenue, Shooting Star Ltd., in collaboration with ServiceEngine Ltd., took a pioneering step by developing and designing cross-platform games for Android and iOS. Commissioned by the Skill Development for Mobile Games and Application Project, this six-month initiative was not only about game development but also about post-development monetization, bringing a complete production-to-revenue model to life. This project helped Bangladesh take its place in the global gaming economy.

Background:

Globally, mobile gaming revenue is set to exceed $45 billion annually, with exponential growth in user engagement and downloads. In Bangladesh, the mobile gaming industry is rapidly emerging, driven by increased smartphone penetration and a young, tech-savvy population—95% of gamers are under 30.

However, the country had remained largely a consumer of foreign-made games. This project aimed to flip that narrative by empowering local developers to produce and monetize games, thereby contributing to the national economy and reducing reliance on international content.

Our Comprehensive Solutions:

Shooting Star Ltd. delivered end-to-end creative, technical, and strategic support for game development, including:

  • Cross-Platform Game Development for both Android and iOS

  • Deployment of a multidisciplinary team including animators, level designers, game programmers, sound engineers, and monetization experts

  • Post-Development Monetization Strategy for long-term revenue sustainability

  • Collaboration with platforms like Google Play and Apple App Store for market placement

  • Structured a total 18-month delivery model:
        – 6 months of core development
        – 6 months of testing & approval
        – 6 months of monetization & ROI tracking

The team included 11 specialized professionals, ensuring every element—from concept to code—was world-class.

Challenges:
  • Limited Local Experience: Game development at this scale was a first for many team members.

  • Monetization Barriers: App monetization remains underutilized in Bangladesh, especially in emerging studios.

  • High Global Standards: Competing with global game producers required technical rigor and creativity.
How We Overcame Them:
  • Hired experienced industry consultants and animators to support the process

  • Conducted global best practice workshops for the development and monetization teams

  • Implemented continuous testing cycles and updated in real time to match platform feedback
Results:
